Yoga & Movement with Beth Award

"As a yoga and movement instructor, my mission is to assist people so that they feel better in their bodies. In public classes, private instruction, and workshops, I draw from yoga, biomechanics, deep tissue release, and strength education to address discomfort and imbalances. My clear instruction style stems from a desire to make what I teach as accessible as possible. I want to support students' capacities to trust their own innate intelligence, and to cultivate an appropriate balance of strength and flexibility.
In the last 3 years, I have worked one-on-one with students ranging from 60-94 years of age. I am skilled at adapting movement and postures, and use a number of props to achieve desired outcomes such as creating better joint movement, "un-sticking" connective tissue, or mobilizing muscles for support, to name just a few. I have taught yoga since 2003 and am a Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 200) through Yoga Alliance. By spring of 2017 I will have completed my E-RYT 500 hour training through Seattle Yoga Arts (www.seattleyogaarts.com), one of the oldest and most respected yoga studios in the city." -- Beth Award

Coach Lisa is a recognized pioneer in the field of older adult fitness and wellness
Coach Lisa was one of the first 500 recipients to earn the AFPA Certification as a Senior Fitness Specialist. The Arthritis Foundation has asked her twice to share a keynote address. The International Parkinsons and Movement Disorder Society recognizes her—an honor for a fitness professional.

Coach Lisa works exclusively with people who are facing tough challenges. Many of her clients are dogged by chronic pain or they may be managing progressive neurologic conditions. It is not unusual for a client to be facing a host of additional health concerns. For example, they may have high blood pressure, total joint replacements or heart conditions. She has both the experience and the training to design an effective fitness program that takes into account a complex medical history.
