Volunteer Roles:

Welcome Volunteer:

Shifts: 9:45 AM - 11:45 AM, 11:30 AM-1:30 PM, 1:15 PM - 3:15 PM, Monday OR Tuesday OR Wednesday OR Thursday


A Welcome Volunteer is the first face a community member will see upon entering the GenPride Center. This role will welcome members, direct them to programming and resources, and connect them with team members as needed for assistance/information.


This is a seated role and can accommodate most abilities.

Kitchen Prep:

Shifts: 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM, Tuesday OR Thursday


The kitchen prep person will assist the chef with chopping, plating meals to serve, and packaging to-go containers. Comfort with working with a knife is a must for this role. 


Must be able to stand for the length of the shift, and lift on occasion up to 10lbs.

Dishwasher:

Shifts: 10:30 AM - 2:00 PM, Tuesday OR Thursday


The kitchen dishwasher person will assist the chef with washing and putting away dishes. 


Must be able to stand for the length of the shift, and lift on occasion up to 25lbs.

Servers:

Shifts: 11:00 AM - 1:15 PM, Tuesday OR Thursday.


We operate our Hot Lunch program in a café style. As a server, you will set up and clean up the dining room at the end of service. A typical serving day is as follows: let the client get checked in and get their ticket, bring them the plate (some may ask for vegetarian), clear plates as needed, scrape food off, and then add dishes to the bus tub. 


Must be able to stand for the length of the shift, moving quickly throughout the kitchen and dining hall.

Check-in Assistance:

Shifts: 11:15 AM - 1:00 PM, Tuesday OR Thursday


The check-in desk plays a vital role, ensuring accurate headcounts and data collection for our funders. This data directly impacts the organization and our ability to continue offering our hot lunch program. Experience/comfort with Google Sheets is preferred. 


This is a seated role and can accommodate most abilities.

Clean Up Assistance: 

Shifts: 1:00 - 1:30 PM, Tuesday OR Thursday. 


The kitchen clean-up person will assist the team with cleaning the dining room and trash removal after service. 


Must be able to stand for the length of the shift, and lift on occasion up to 20lbs.
