Preparing Pride Place Documents

For your Pride Place application, you may consider uploading your documents online to avoid delays in the process.

To get digital versions of your documents you can either:

  • Download the documents directly from applicable websites.

or

  • Use a scanner to make a digital copy of a physical document.

GenPride Movie Club

GenPride has partnered with Scarecrow Video to create our new ‘Movie Club’ featuring free online screening, presented by Seattle’s Scarecrow Video and followed by a lively after-movie discussion. This program is supported in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Washington State Arts Commission, City of Seattle, and the Veterans and Seniors Human Services Levy.

Low-Income Seniors: Apply Now for the SFMNP Benefit Card and Enjoy Fresh Produce from Farmers Markets

We are excited to share that the Seattle Human Services Department (HSD) has opened enrollment for the popular Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP). This program offers low-income seniors a one-time SFMNP benefit card worth $80, which can be used to purchase fresh produce at farmers markets throughout King County.

Last year, the SFMNP benefit was doubled from $40 to $80 per person, resulting in $655,560 in farmers market voucher support for 8,165 low-income older adults. This year, the funding has been increased again, and over 10,000 seniors are expected to receive SFMNP cards in 2023.

Social Worker Position Open at GenPride

GenPride is the premier non-profit organization serving the LGBTQIA+ elder community in Seattle and King County. At GenPride we advocate for the unique needs of older LGBTQIA+ adults, offer innovative programs and services that promote well-being and prevent social isolation, cultivate belonging through community connection, and work to eliminate discrimination in all its forms.   

GenPride is on the cusp of expanding our reach and amplifying our impact, from the opening of Pride Place, the first income-qualifying housing for LGBTQIA+ seniors in collaboration with Community Roots Housing, to the new and expanded GenPride Senior Community Center located on the ground floor of Pride Place in the heart of Capitol Hill in Seattle.

Do More Feel Better seeks participants

University of Washington is looking for participants (aged 60+) interested in a 9-week virtual program called “Do More, Feel Better” that is based on research showing that increasing participation in pleasurable and rewarding activities can lead to improvement in depressive symptoms.

If you are eligible to participate, you will receive up to $130 over the course of the program.
