Description:
Volunteer Services is a program of Catholic Community Services committed to providing in-home chore assistance to elders and adults with disabilities, helping them to remain in their own home for as long as safely possible.
Who qualifies for Volunteer Services? Volunteer Services uses the following criteria to prioritize services:
Age 65 or older, or 18 years of age and living with a functional disability (including temporary disabilities). Live independently in your own residence. Monthly income of around $1,000 per month or less for a single-person household, and $1,500 or less for a couple.**VS does not have strict financial criteria -- its purpose is to serve as a safety net for those who do not qualify for DSHS chore services (COPES) and cannot afford to pay for private chore services themselves. Volunteer Services considers factors such as medical expenses to determine eligibility.
