The Mayor's Office for Senior Citizens (MOSC) provides programs and referrals to services that support independent living, social and civic engagement, and healthy aging to make a positive difference in the lives of older adults and adults with disabilities.
Senior Discounts (for Seattle-King County Residents)--The Mayor's Office for Senior Citizens issues the Gold Card and FLASH Card for seniors and adults with disabilities. 55+ Employment Center--The Employment Resource Center assists job-seeking Seattle residents age 55 and over and helps local employers to find experienced, dedicated, and reliable employees. Services are free to both job seekers and employers. Technology Resources--In addition to the technology courses taught on-site at the MOSC the City of Seattle is committed to promoting a technology healthy community so residents have the information technology training and access needed for civic and cultural participation, employment, and lifelong learning. Coffee Hours--The Mayor's Office for Senior Citizens Coffee Hours are held on the third Thursday of every month at the Central Building and on other dates in Seattle neighborhoods. The events bring community elders closer to City officials to explore topics of interest. Presentations often include up-to-date information about healthy aging, legal and planning issues, and more.
