GenPRIDE Community Assistance Survey
Finding it difficult to stay on top of groceries, medicine, and/or socialization during quarantine? We are surveying our community to understand how Coronavirus (COVID2019) is affecting the current needs of our senior LGBTQIA+ community.
We know that many in our community have health conditions that create additional challenges and we are exploring options to provide assistance with:
- Grocery and supply delivery
- Donated groceries and specific supplies
- Phone socialization/conversations to help reduce isolation
- Getting clean masks
- Keeping up with your pet(s)

For individuals and Families. Most individuals earning less than $75,000 can expect a one-time cash payment of $1,200. Expansion of unemployment insurance benefits for laid-off, furloughed workers, gig economy and contractors.

The Crisis-Affected Customer Assistance Program (CACAP)
This program has been created for customers who have had their household income significantly reduced after March 1, 2020. This $11 million fund provides a one-time bill credit equal to the cost of the energy your home used from March to August 2019 (up to $1,000). You can apply for CACAP while funds are available.

Essential items to consider when shopping:
Non-perishable/long lasting food list: Foods that require no refrigeration, cooking or little water, Ready-to-eat canned meats, fruits and vegetables, Protein or fruit bars, Dry cereal or granola, Peanut butter, Dried fruit, nuts, Crackers, Canned juices, Gatorade / electrolytes.
Hygiene items: Hand sanitizer rubbing, Lysol Soap, Disinfectant wipes, Hand wipes, Deodorant, Toothpaste, Tooth brushes, Mouth wash, Disposable gloves.
Utilities
Seattle Utilities are not disconnecting water service for non-payment at this time. Additionally, it is temporarily waiving late fees for non-payment.
The Seattle Utility Discount Program (UDP) offers eligible customers a 60% discount on their Seattle City Light bill and a 50% discount on their Seattle Public Utilities bill. UDP is available for income-qualified residential households.
Puget Sound Energy is not disconnecting utility service for non-payment at this time. Additionally, it is temporarily waiving late fees for non-payment. It will work with customers on options like payment plans and bill extensions.
Comcast Xfinity is not disconnecting internet service or assessing late fees at this time.
CenturyLink is not disconnecting internet service or assessing late fees at this time.
