GenPRIDE would like to take time to raise support and awareness for our communities of color.

We see you! We hear you! We stand with you!

We feel that it is important to acknowledge the struggles and brutality of our black and brown communities. Over the past month our nation has been struggling to be heard, to make changes within the institutions of our country, and to end the injustice, brutality, and racism against People Of Color.

Now more than ever, our black and brown families and communities need our support and love. Our LGBTQ+ community knows first hand how important the right support is, how we can hear words of change from governing bodies and not see that change. It is a difficult fight, especially considering how ingrained institutional racism is with our country.

Many of us are reminded of our movement which occurred this very month, 51 years ago. A courageous and tired LGBTQ Community, along with Marsha P. Johnson, Zazu Nova, and Jackie Hormona, had enough. They rioted in New York for their own rights to live without unjust persecution and brutality. It was just the beginning.
